The room is only big enough to allow for the things the girls will need, Beds on Opposite sides of the room, each one with a little bookshelf, and a desk for studying below the window. The things they will need are nicely placed out on their bed, Student ID cards with their names and pictures, Books they will need for their courses. A Laptop each Miki's is a Gold Yellow and Kohana's is a Green. There is also a card there from the Tarot, the Moon on Miki's Bed with her name written in gold sharpy. Kohana also has a card Strength with her name written on it in the same way.

Kohana will enter the room and head over to her bed. She'll dump her things down at the end of the bed and look curiously at the tarot card, "Odd thing to have here," she looked at the picture a little puzzled before placing the card on the bookshelf. She then moved over to something far more interesting, her school provided laptop. She turned it on and looked to see exactly what was on it and exactly how she could put things she wanted onto it.

"You've got to be kidding me," Miki says as she realizes exactly whom she's rooming with. Kohana heads in first while Miki hangs back to argue - but Hino-Chan's unyielding patience gets the better of the little redhead and finally Miki gives the exasperated sigh of a hard-done-by teenager and drags her feet into the dorm room, forced to at least give the current arrangements a try.
Miki gives Kohana a sullen glare before focusing pointedly at her own side of the room. Setting her bag on the floor beside the bed, she looks at the items laid out on the bedspread - the gold coloured laptop getting another sneer, but the card getting a confused look and she ends up sitting down with it in her hand to try to figure out what it is and why it's been left for her. She glances to the door - but it's closed and Hino-Chan is gone, so she can't be asked, and from the glare Miki flashes at Kohana she'd rather be boiled in oil than ask the "princess" for input. After a moment Miki dismisses the card from her concerns and she sets it aside, face down on the desk as she opens the laptop and looks to see if there's a student handbook in the files.

After dumping half a dozen useless apps into the bin and downloading a far superior web browser to whatever outdated version of Google Chrome this thing was using, Kohana took on a few more apps, mostly stuff for communicating, no point in putting any games on this thing yet, it probably didn't have the power to run anything new and Kohana didn't feel like playing old classics like World of Tanks or World of Warcraft...nothing beginning with the word "World".
"I wonder how often they'll inspect these laptops?" Kohana suspected that if every student was given one that it could not have been terribly cheap for the school, so regular inspections seemed wise. Best not put on anything too incriminating, better leave that for her personal tablet.

Miki finishes skimming any rules about use, misuse and mutilation of the laptop and closes it, setting the machine aside and zipping open one of the pockets on her bag. Kohana's question makes her pause in the midst of bringing out rolls of patterned tape. Miki looks up and over at the other girl, raising her eyebrows as she asks with saccharine politeness, "Has Her Imperial Majesty deigned to notice this poor peasant at long last?"

"Yes, I have," Kohana said with a grin, "So do you think they'll inspect these laptops and how often do you think they'll do it? I'd guess maybe once every six months or something. I doubt they'd give us a warning either,"

Miki stares for perhaps three seconds before making a derisive noise. "You have no manners," the red-haired pot says to the kettle, shaking her head, but then she shrugs. "I don't know. I just read the rules and they say you can't make any permanent modifications to system or case, but I guess if you can remove a program you can put it on temporarily." She shrugs, adding, "I hate gold so I'm just going to cover it up."
She sets the tape down on the bed beside her and then gets a thoughtful look on her face and she smiles slyly, reaching up to the desk she'd laid the card on. She pulls it off and towards her, this time seeing not the face of the card, but the back. She pauses, eyes widening a little and she shivers.
"Creepy. Did they put these in the brochure or something?" she asks, maybe of Kohana, maybe of no one. She digs through her paperwork, leaving the card face-down on the bed, revealing the back of the card to Kohana - a card back Kohana will also remember from the dream, though they'd both woken up before the card face had been revealed.

Kohana looked at the back of the card and vaguely remembered seeing it from a dream, which was pretty weird that it would show up here. Maybe though she had seen these cards before somewhere, perhaps they had been on the school's website or brochure and she hadn't remembered about it, "Yeah probably the brochure or the website or something," though there was doubt in her voice. She did note that Miki was being less aggravated than she had been, perhaps she was chilling out?
